Gurugram builds sport commercially. The client is usually a developer, a club operator or a corporate campus, the site is usually expensive, and the first question is not what it looks like — it is whether the facility earns its footprint.

Land cost drives the brief. When the site is expensive, every square metre of sport has to justify itself against what else could stand there. That pushes projects toward high-turnover sports, stacked and podium arrangements, and covered courts that earn hours back from the weather — and it makes the utilisation question the first one we ask.
The clubhouse is the business. In commercial racquet facilities the courts fill the hours and the social space makes the margin. Court count sized to catchment, lounge sized to court count, changing sized to the overlap between bookings — that ratio decides profitability more than the court specification does.
Podium and rooftop conditions. Courts on structure bring loading, drainage, acoustic transfer to the floors below, wind exposure at height, and access for maintenance — a different set of problems from a court on grade, and all of them cheaper to solve on the concept drawing.
